The Grasshopper and the Ant
Max Sarba
There once was a cricket and an ant.
Being hard-working, the aunt would spend all of summer gathering food to prepare for winter.
On the other hand, all the cricket would want to do would be to relax and play his guitar all summer long
One day, the ant came across the cricket and the cricket asked her “Why are you working so hard? Why don’t you enjoy your summer?” And the ant said that she has to work hard and prepare for the winter to make sure that she has enough food. The cricket doesn’t listen to her and he continues to play his guitar and relax.
Slowly but surely winter comes around, and the cricket starts to look for food, but with no luck, there’s no food anywhere around.
After a while, the cricket comes across the ant and her immense stash of food. He asks her if he can have some, but the ant says no, because he was lazy and didn’t want to work hard during the summer.
Sad, the cricket keeps walking around looking for food, but can’t find any. In the end, he collapses and dies because of starvation.
