Tenali Raman & 2 Thieves
Senthil Ramasamy
One fine night, two thieves decided to rob Tenali Raman’s house.
Instead of panicking, he quietly told his wife to fill a large trunk with rocks and stones.
Raman and his wife pretended to struggle as they carried it to the nearby well and dropped it in, making huge splash.
The thieves watching from the shadows, though Tenali had hidden all his treasures in the trunk and dumped it in the well for safety.
The robbers rushed to the well after Tenali went inside. All night long, they pulled up the bucket after bucket of water, trying to empty the well and retrieve the treasure.
By dawn exhausted and dripping wet, the robbers realized they had been fooled. Denali stepped out with a smile and said, Thank you for watering my garden all night.
