Waterford Hungarian Cultural Organisation

The Waterford Hungarian Cultural Organisation, established in 2019, supports local Hungarian families by organizing Saturday Hungarian school and kindergarten classes in Waterford city. We also host family events and get-togethers to strengthen community bonds, celebrate Hungarian culture, and provide a nurturing environment for children and adults alike. Our aim is to preserve our language and culture and share it with the local communities. Join us to connect, learn, and grow together.

Latvian weekend school “Jumitis”

We are the Latvian community in Waterford, established in 2017. We meet every Friday evening to teach our children the Latvian language, traditions, and culture. We also gather with families for family days, which usually involve trips and celebrations of Latvian festivals. We are very happy to have the opportunity to share our Latvian heritage with our children.

Uganda Community Group Waterford

Uganda Community Group Waterford was established in 2016 to facilitate the Uganda Community in Waterford City and County make a distinct and substantial contribution to their community. This will be achieved through the promotion of social, cultural and educational activities and events that will foster inter-cultural understanding and cooperation; enabling the sharing of knowledge which will lead to a better coexistence among peoples of all cultures.

Welcome to the Waterford Pakistani Community, the sole representative organization for the Pakistani diaspora in Waterford. We are dedicated to fostering a sense of community and belonging through organizing a variety of social and cultural gatherings. Our events celebrate our rich heritage and promote cultural understanding within the broader community.

In addition to social events, we hold information sessions that provide valuable legal advice and career counseling, assisting our members in navigating professional and personal challenges. Our representatives are highly educated professionals working predominantly in the healthcare and IT sectors, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to our community initiatives.

The Waterford Pakistani Community prides itself on maintaining excellent social relations wit both migrant and local communities. We actively participate in local and national political activities, ensuring our community’s voice is heard and contributing to the vibrant multicultural landscape of Waterford.

Creative Ukrainian Emeralds

Creative UE – Ukrainian Voluntary Group/ Association dedicated to support the cultural integration, wellbeing, healthy mind and educational needs of Ukrainian children, migrant women and elderly people in co. Waterford.

Our Mission:
To Bring Ukrainian and other local Multicultural Communities together through Cultural exchange, Music, Word, Art. The aim of the project to encourage social interaction between migrants and members of Waterford local communities, through arts and crafts, music and literature, intercultural awareness.

Our Goals:

  1. To teach the Art of truly living fulfilling, wellbeing through supporting each other, through art and educational activities.
  2. To support sense of belonging to Community and Identity
  3. To volunteer and do work experience through participation in Educational and Cultural projects
  4. To help the integration through social interaction and education
  5. To support the mental and physical health of participants through dance, singing, therapeutic practices, nature walks,

Get involved in our activities:

  1. Music (piano, singing groups), Ukrainian language classes for all age groups and individual coaching.
  2. “Dance Movement Health Literacy Course” (October- December 2024 funded by WWETB, Adult Literacy), Gestalt therapy individual psychological support.
  3. Migrant Ukrainian Women support – wellbeing, communication, singing group “Ukrainian Emeralds”.
  4. “Melodic Literacy Learners” English Literacy through Singing courses for Non-English-Speaking adults (Summer 2024. Funded by WWETB, Adult Literacy for Life)
  5. Leaving Certificate Support Classes for individuals and groups (Music, Ukrainian language- Starting August 2024)
  6. Community Events, Festivals, Cultural Days.

The vision of the Pakistan Overseas Community (POC) Ireland organisation is to foster integration and harmony within Ireland’s diverse society. Waterford Tamil Sangam

Waterford Tamil Sangam, a pioneering non-profit Indian Tamil association in Ireland, which I had the honour of Founding alongside with distinguished colleagues. Since our inception on Pongal day in January 2018, inaugurated by the then Mayor and Councillor of Waterford, our organization has been dedicated to fostering integration and improving the quality of life for Tamil speakers, Indians, and migrants in line with the European Union’s integration policy. WTSI is committed to EU Integration Objectives building a cohesive community that supports all migrants, promoting inclusion and facilitating their successful integration into Irish society. Preserving &promoting the rich diversity of Tamil and Indian cultures, thereby enriching the multicultural tapestry of Europe. Raising awareness and appreciation of Tamil heritage, ensuring it is part of the broader cultural dialogue in Europe, and fostering intercultural understanding among the youth and wider community Services Aligned with EU Integration Frameworks.

To support our integration goals, we provide:

Professional immigration advice in partnership with certified 1st Irish & EU Immigration Consultants, aiding newcomers in navigating the complexities of EU regulations, with Essential accommodation support, legal Advice, Educational resources, Mediation services, emergency information that eases the transition for migrants adjusting to new environments.

Cultural Celebrations as Integration Tools, we cordially invite you to participate in our key cultural events, such as Indian Independence Day, Republic Day, Pongal festival, Tamil New Year, Diwali, EU & UN days etc. We align our activities with Europe Union policies on integration, showcasing contributions to fostering a multicultural & inclusive society.

Ukrainian Community Dungarvan

The Ukrainian community in Dungarvan was established in 2023. The main aims of the community are to help Ukrainians integrate into Irish society and to preserve Ukrainian identity. By developing these two main goals the community aims to organise as many activities as possible in order to create strong social ties within the community.

We often have friends trips to towns and interesting places in Ireland. Ukrainians get acquainted with Irish cultural heritage, traditions and values.

The community also provides information support in all directions. We strive to create a friendly and safe environment in which any Ukrainian will not feel alone.
We are focused on supporting Ukrainians and their quick adaptation to Ireland.
The community is also interested in preserving Ukrainian identity: preserving the Ukrainian language, studying Ukrainian literature and history, celebrating our traditional holidays.

Our community is growing rapidly and we hope that it will help many people to find themselves in Irish society and give them the opportunity to express their attachment to their homeland.
