Racism can happen anywhere — on the street, on public transport, or in a shop. If you witness it, your response matters.
The Immigrant Council of Ireland has outlined four clear steps to help you act safely, show solidarity, and support those targeted.
Learn the steps below and share them with your community. Together, we can create safer, more welcoming spaces for everyone.
Report Racism
If you experience or witness a racist incident — whether it’s hate speech, discrimination, or a crime — you can report it confidentially at iReport.ie, the Irish Network Against Racism’s online reporting system.
In emergencies or cases involving violence or threats, always contact An Garda Síochána by calling 999 or 112. This kind of crime must be specifically reported as a Hate Crime, not just an assault.
By speaking up and reporting, you help make sure these incidents are recorded, addressed, and prevented in the future.
